The Wild on Sunday reduced training camp to 31 players, sending prospects Adam Beckman, Carson Lambos and Ryan O’Rourke down to AHL camp and waiving or releasing a handful of others.
Minnesota Steven Fogarty, Jake Lucchini, Zane McIntyre and Lakeville South graduate Nick Swaney on waivers. If they go unclaimed, they’ll be assigned to Iowa. Forwards Mike O’Leary and Joel Teasdale were released from their tryouts.
The Wild have 31 players in camp, four of whom are injured — Daemon Hunt, Sam Hentges, Michael Milne and Caedan Bankier. There were 26 on the ice for practice Sunday, minus goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury, who missed Saturday’s practice, as well.
Notably still on the camp roster are forwards Juhjar Khaira, Vinni Lettieri and Nic Petan, veterans who would have to be placed on waivers before they could be assigned to Iowa. Khaira signed a one-year, two-way contract days before training camp started.
The team is scheduled to leave after practice for team building Monday in Two Harbors and a practice Tuesday at Amsoil Arena in Duluth.
