Three people sought in murder of 10-year-old ‘have fled the country’

Three people sought by police over the murder of a 10-year-old girl have fled the country, investigators believe.

Surrey Police launched an investigation into the death of a child on Thursday, August 10, after discovering a body at a home in Horsell, a village near Woking.

Officers and investigators have swarmed the area over the last couple of days, but the service now believes people sought in connection with their enquiries have left the UK.

In a statement, the Detective Chief Inspector Debbie White, the senior investigating officer, said police believe they fled the country on Wednesday, August 9.

She said: “Our investigation into this tragic incident has continued at pace today with a number of enquiries underway.

“We have identified three people we would like to speak to in connection with our investigation and from our enquiries, we believe that they left the country on Wednesday, 9 August.

“We are working with our partners, including international authorities, to locate them.

“Officers have been in the local area today carrying out house-to-house enquiries and we expect a police presence to remain around the scene over the coming week.”
