Plumes of black smoke can be seen billowing across the Moscow skyline in Russia.
Social media reports suggest explosions were heard in the Russia capital in the early hours of Thursday, August 10.
Russian news agency Astra shared images showing the fire in the Domodedovo area.
Eyewitnesses reportedly believe the explosions were caused by drones.
Domodedovo is where the key international airport serving Moscow is located.
Social media sources say the Russian capital’s air defenses were activated shortly before the fire could be spotted.
Local residents allegedly reported hearing “two loud pops” in the moments before the fire. And firefighters are said to have the incident under control.
FlightRadar 24 currently reports Domodedovo as being unavailable at present. While the flight map shows a plane from Cairo has been spotted circling around the airport instead of being able to land.
