Elsewhere Kate and Prince William have gone on another surprise walkabout, delighting fans at a Coronation lunch in Windsor. One little girl was left in tears, as the experience of meeting the royal duo proved all too much. The schoolgirl, named Lucy, seemed particularly excited to see the Princess of Wales and, after Kate crouched to speak more easily with her, she soon started crying.
Meanwhile Prince Harry is back home in California after his flying visit. One royal commentator has laid into the Duke of Sussex, claiming that being seated in the third row was a new “level of embarrassment” above anything experienced before. Being seated between Princess Alexandra, a cousin of the late Queen who is currently 56th in the line of succession, and Jack Brooksbank, the husband of Princess Eugenie, Australian commentator Daniela Elser claimed, was “debasing” for the royal.
As soon as the Coronation service ended, the Duke of Sussex was straight off to Heathrow and is likely to have been home in time to tuck Prince Archie into bed after his fourth birthday celebrations.
Despite it being a big day too for the Sussex family, no official royal channel mentioned Archie’s birthday on Saturday.
