Fake bomb threat evacuates Fleet Farm in Hastings

Someone put a fake bomb threat on the bathroom door at the Fleet Farm in Hastings, prompting an evacuation and search of the business Thursday night.

Officers were called to the Fleet Farm off Highway 55 at about 5:45 p.m. and found a note on the door that said a bomb would go off at 6:29 p.m., Police Chief David Wilske said. The building was evacuated, and the St. Paul police bomb squad and a Metro Transit bomb detection K-9 were called to the scene.

The building was cleared just after 7 p.m., with nothing else suspicious found in the building, Wilske said.

Hastings police continue to investigate.
