Police have pulled a body from the sea at a popular British holiday hotspot.
Emergency services were called to Blackpool promenade following a report around midday on Wednesday.
Pictures showed ambulances stationed around a building on the central promenade as the body of a man was retrieved from the water.
Blackpool Police he was pronounced dead at the scene, and added in a statement that the death is not being treated as suspicious.
The force said: “We were called around 12pm on Wednesday, April 5, to a report a body had been found in the sea off Blackpool Promenade.
“Emergency services attended the scene with the body of a man recovered from the water. He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be passed to the coroner in due course.
“Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this sad and difficult time.”
