ARSENAL are lining up a transfer move for Julian Brandt, according to reports.
The Borussia Dortmund star got his teeth into Premier League opposition when he scored in his side’s 2-0 win over Newcastle in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Brandt has previously flirted with a move to England, with Jurgen Klopp wanting him over Mohamed Salah for his evolving Liverpool team back in 2017.
And according to The Mirror, Arsenal want to bring the 27-year-old to the Emirates.
Arsenal signed Declan Rice and Kai Havertz to play in midfield in the summer.
But with reports suggesting Thomas Partey could be making an Arsenal exit with concerns over his injury record.
Midfielder Brandt could therefore be bought in as a replacement, though there are a number of options in that sense.
However, the Gunners will not be alone in wanting to sign the German.
Eddie Howe‘s Newcastle are also said to be interested in his signature.
Dortmund are unlikely to be under pressure to sell in January given Brandt recently signed a contract extension to June 2026.

But that will not stop interest from coming in the summer.
Although neither side are Brandt’s preferred destination, having admitted in an interview with The Athletic he regrets not joining the Reds from then-club Bayer Leverkusen.
He said: “I had that chance to take that next step to join Liverpool, but the time wasn’t right for me.
“I was aware that they were also looking at Mo Salah at the time. It’s a shame because I would have loved to play for Kloppo.”
